  New Benches for Stonebridge Common

Brand new benches have been installed on Stonebridge Common after lobbying from Queensbridge councillors. The seats on the common had fallen into a bad state of disrepair with broken wood and exposed metal.

Local residents invited Queensbridge councillors on a walkabout and tell them they wanted new benches to make the common look smarter and provide a meeting place for the community.

Labour councillors contacted the council and parks officers have now installed new seats for residents and park users.

Queensbridge councillor Patrick Vernon said: "Residents told us that they wanted the broken old benches removed and new seats installed to help clean up the common.

"We took action and I'm delighted that the new benches are now in place."
