| | Massive Improvements in GCSE Results |  |

At the last
election in 2006, Labour in Hackney pledged that by
2010
GCSE results
in the borough would exceed the national average. There have been
massive improvements in GCSE results this year and pupils in
Hackney have achieved better results than the national average for
the first time ever – 52% got five or more good
GCSEs.
Haggerston,
Cardinal Pole and Hackney Free all improved their results by at
least 10%, and Mossbourne Academy achieved a staggering 84% -
raising the bar for all schools in Hackney.

Cllr Rita
Krishna, Cabinet member for Children and Young People, said: “These
