Hackney Council has a new team of councillors at the helm following the recent Council elections, agreed at the Annual Meeting of the Council on 17 May.
Labour Mayor Jules Pipe announced his new Cabinet of six councillors, supported by four advisers, with re-jigged portfolios to match the Council’s new service directorates and provide clear lines
of responsibility and accountability.
Committee Chairs were also agreed by the Council, for the quasi-judicial functions of planning and licensing, and for the Scrutiny Commissions whose role it is to hold the Mayor and Cabinet to
account.
