Congratulations to Sem and Patrick, our newly elected councillors for Hackney Downs and Stoke Newington!
Sem and Patrick are our newest addition to the council, having been elected on the 5th of May with huge majorities of 2,614 and 3,241 respectively. We were thrilled to see so many people get involved in the campaign, with really high turnout in both wards at 58% in Hackney Downs and 63% in Stoke Newington.
Sem Moema - Labour’s new councillor for Hackney Downs
Sem has worked for a large housing association for over four years. Before that, she worked in the youth sector and in international development. She served as a councillor in Hackney Downs ward from 2006 – 10. She prioritises Housing and Regeneration. On the council, she will fight the Tory Housing Bill and work to support Hackney providing more affordable homes.
Patrick Moule - Labour’s new councillor for Stoke Newington
Patrick is a National Organiser for a trade union. He was recently Vice Chair of Hackney North Labour Party in charge of campaigning. Patrick cares passionately about Education and is committed to ensuring that Hackney gives young people the best possible start in life.
