Introducing Sophie

Hackney Labour are delighted to introduce our candidate for the Hackney Central by-election, Sophie Conway!

The Hackney Central by-election was triggered after Cllr. Sophie Linden was promoted to become Sadiq Khan's new Deputy Mayor for policing, and will take place on the 21st of July.

Sophie was born and raised in Hackney Central, and went to Gayhurst Community School in Hackney, where her daughter also attended.

She works as a youth advocate for a children’s charity and a Parent Governor at a Hackney School, previously volunteering for Young Hackney where she worked with young offenders in the borough.

Sophie Conway:

"Hackney is my home and I am honoured to be running for election in a place that I know so well and hold so dear. As a single parent, living in social housing in the borough I am acutely aware of the impact that Tory austerity is having on our community and the issues that people are struggling with.   As your Councillor I will make sure that I listen toyour views and concerns and take action."

If you'd like to get involved in the campaign, we'd be delighted to have you and you can get involved at hackney-labour.org.uk/events or by getting in touch at info@hackney-labour.org.uk.
