It’s Day 3 of Meet Your Labour Team, and today is Clissold’s turn.
Ned has a PhD in Modernism & Literary Theory from the University of Sussex and he is a civil servant.
He lives in the ward and loves living in Hackney because of its values of equality, solidarity and diversity. He is an active trade unionist, and his political priorities are housing and the local economy. When he’s not working he likes to cook and to cycle.
Sophie Cameron has lived in Stoke Newington for 12 years, first on Brighton Road and now on Nevill Road. Sophie works as an editor for a global news and information provider and previously she practised as an employment and discrimination lawyer and was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Fawcett Society, carrying out policy and campaign work on economic, social and workplace inequalities.
Sophie was Chair of a domestic violence advocacy project for 5 years and was a founding Director of Open Source, a not for profit company which raised funds from local businesses to put on Stokefest, a community arts and music festival in Clissold Park in 2003.
Sophie wants to ensure that the people of Hackney continue to benefit from the excellent services provided by Hackney Council in recent years and to support job creation and a vibrant local economy.
Sade is a mother of four children and has lived in Hackney for 9 years. She previously worked as a project worker with vulnerable adults with complex needs.
Ned, Sophie and Sade are all standing for re-election in the Local Election on 3rd May 2018!
