Carole says that ‘it’s a privilege to represent Hoxton West’. Since her first election, she has met with local residents, attended estate committee and TMO meetings, held surgeries, knocked on doors and responded to thousands of emails, listening to residents’ views. She has been told that residents want improvements in their parks and green spaces, more social housing, clean air, housing repairs, and a Councillor who will fight against crime and antisocial behaviour. She has seen improvements to council housing, street cleaning, more trees, and new play areas and has fought alongside Hoxton West Councillors to reopen the Murray Grove Post Office.
She recognises that there’s more that needs to be done to ensure public spaces are even more inclusive and accessible and can be enjoyed by all and, as we see even higher property prices in this part of Hackney, we need truly affordable local housing, a plan of action to tackle the housing repairs backlog and we need to go further to deliver cleaner air.
