Deniz is a lawyer, and has lived in Hackney for over 20 years. He is a Lea Bridge ward resident with his wife, and children who go to local schools. He is a keen advocate for the local community and its issues, and supports local businesses and local markets.
Alongside his two councillor colleagues, Deniz has supported the regeneration of Chatsworth Road area and the market, encouraging local traders and residents to become actively involved.
He was involved in helping to secure funding for a new playground area in Millfields Park.
He has been involved in local campaigns against betting shops, mass developments that offer little or no consideration for residents’ living conditions, and in favour of sustainable developments that place environmental concerns at their centre.
He supports local social housing estates and campaigns for better facilities for estate residents. He is in favour of investing in green technologies and avoiding investment in fossil fuel companies.
