Joe is running to be a Labour councillor for De Beauvoir. He is keen to work with residents and Labour’s team at the town hall, for a better De Beauvoir. He is a well-known Hackney community campaigner, speaking up for those in Hackney who don’t have a voice on issues of poverty, housing inequality and also supporting moves to build back Hackney community spirit.
He is currently Director of Clapton Commons, a community organisation in Hackney committed to community building and resident engagement. He is also a trustee of Hackney Night Shelter and co-chair of governors of a Hackney primary school. He is a keen cyclist, living with his family in Hackney for 21 years.
Joe will be fighting for –
Æ new council homes built on De Beauvoir Estate,
Æ better repair services for council tenants,
Æ a new School Street on Enfield Road,
Æ cleaner, greener, and safer streets, pocket parks like Ufton Road
Æ more support for De Beauvoir community groups
