Sem is standing for re-election in May 2022 as a Hackney Downs councillor. She has served the ward for 10 years as a strong voice for local residents and businesses. She has fought for resources and investments in our streets and estates for residents and is a strong community champion.

In her next term, Sem will continue to fight for private renters’ rights, and will fight to ensure Hackney Downs ward has 21st century estates for its tenants and leaseholders; work with the community to co-produce solutions to community safety, violence against women and girls; improved air quality and make sure all residents are part of making Hackney a net zero borough.
