Caroline Woodley stands to be elected first Labour woman Mayor of Hackney

CAROLINE Woodley launched her campaign to become the next Hackney Labour Mayor on October 1, in London Fields.

More than 60 supporters from all parts of the borough and diverse communities cheered her on and later visited homes in Hackney to let people know the good news of Labour’s excellent candidate

She was supported by stirring speeches from Cllr Anntoinette Bramble, Deputy Mayor of Hackney, and Meg Hillier, MP for Hackney South, at a rally of more than 60 people.

Caroline is a single mum and has lived in Hackney for over 20 years.

She has been a councillor for 5 years and is currently Cabinet Member for Families, Parks and Leisure. She has a proven track record of delivering for Hackney:

* Delivered an exciting programme of community investment, transforming parks and play area across the borough, with more improvements to come

* Secured £12 million from the Dept for Education to help create 300 school places for children with special educational needs and disabilities * Driven forward plans for a new generation of leisure facilities in Hackney, building on the success of our flagship Britannia Leisure Centre.
