Brian Bell has been a councillor for Brownswood since 2006, and has lived on Green Lanes since 1999.
Brian is Chairs of the Governing Board at Parkwood Primary School, the main one serving the area. He believes that giving an excellent start in life to children in the Borough is one of the most important things a council can do.
Brian also leads the steering group of residents and officers that oversees the regeneration of Kings Crescent estate, and recently twice obtained planning permission for the scheme to proceed. This will eventually provide over 550 new homes for social rent, shared ownership and private sale, as well as refurbishing all the existing flats.
He enjoys music, comedy and drama in his spare time including being a keen supporter of the Park Theatre in N4.
Clare has been living in the Brownswood ward for 11 years. She works as a Carpentry & Joinery tutor in Tower Hamlets.
Clare has been active in her local community for many years and is currently co-running the allotment scheme and playing out sessions on the Myddleton Grange estate. She believes shared experiences in the community such as these are a strong platform on which to build mutual respect. She hopes to develop similar initiatives if elected as a councillor in 2014 – guided by her core values of justice and equality.
